As CEO, Co-Founder, and Chairman of EnerNOC, Tim has guided the company's strategic course since its inception in 2001. Under Tim's leadership, EnerNOC has experienced exponential growth in size, capacity, and revenue, significantly expanding into untapped markets across the United States and diversifying from demand response to total energy management. Today, EnerNOC is the premiere full-service energy management provider with unparalleled performance and services.
Prior to EnerNOC, Tim worked in the Energy Technology Laboratory for Northern Power Systems, Inc., a firm that has integrated over 800 distributed power systems and related equipment for customers throughout the world. Tim also held positions with Merrill Lynch, International Fuel Cells (now UTC Fuel Cells), and Commonwealth Capital Ventures, an early stage technology venture capital firm in Wellesley, MA, and co-founded Student Advantage, which went public in 1999.
Tim graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Economics and received his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
President, Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder, and Director
David co-founded EnerNOC in 2001 and has served as the company's President since inception. In February 2007, he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer and currently oversees the organization's Operations and Engineering efforts. David has taken an active role in helping to shape demand response markets throughout the country and has pioneered efforts to make customer participation in these markets more simple and effective through the use of improved data communications and automation technologies.
Prior to EnerNOC, David worked at Beacon Power Corporation (NASDAQ:BCON), a manufacturer of energy storage and power conversion technologies for the renewable energy and distributed generation markets. David also evaluated emerging energy technologies for Winslow Management Company, an environmentally-focused investment management firm, and developed corporate strategies for SolarBank, a global capital fund for the financing of solar energy systems.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts with High Honors from Wesleyan University, a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Richard Dieter has served as a Director since April 2007. From September 1976 through August 2002, Mr. Dieter served as an Accounting and Audit Partner for Arthur Andersen LLP and since August 2002, Mr. Dieter has been working as a principal assisting Arthur Andersen LLP in the wind-down of its legacy public accounting business. From 1992 to 2001, Mr. Dieter served as chair of the AICPA-SEC International Task Force, and from 1997 to 2002, served as a member of the AICPA's Auditing Standards Board. Mr. Dieter currently serves on the board of directors of Picis, Inc., a provider of healthcare information solutions. Mr. Dieter holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
T.J. Glauthier is an advisor to companies in the energy and "cleantech"
sector, including venture capital firms and their start-up companies, private equity firms, alternative energy companies, electric utilities, and global energy and transportation companies.
He advises financial firms and start-up companies through his firm, TJG Energy Associates, LLC. He consults to large corporations through association with Booz Allen Hamilton's global energy practice. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Union Drilling, Inc., and EnerNOC, Inc. His pro bono activities include serving as an advisor to Stanford University's Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency and on the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County Resource Conservation District.
From 2001 through 2004, Mr. Glauthier was President and CEO of the
Electricity Innovation Institute, an affiliate of EPRI. Mr. Glauthier
was the Deputy Secretary and COO of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) from 1999 to 2001. He served in the White House for five years before going to DOE, as the Associate Director for Natural Resources, Energy and Science in the Office of Management and Budget.
Earlier, Mr. Glauthier was a Vice President of Temple, Barker & Sloane, a management consulting firm, and Director of Energy and Climate Change at the World Wildlife Fund.
Mr. Glauthier is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College and the Harvard Business School.
William D. Lese has served as a Director since June 2003. Mr. Lese co-founded and since October 2001 has served as a managing director of Braemer Energy Ventures, LP, a venture capital management company focused exclusively on investing in early to mid-stage energy technology companies in the United States and Canada. He also serves on the board of directors of Celunol Corp., CoalTek, Inc. and Utility Associates, Inc. and is Chairman of the Board of Solicore, Inc. Mr. Lese holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and a Master of Science in Energy Sciences from New York University
Adam Grosser brings a passion for startups as well as substantial experience to the EnerNOC team. With an emphasis on data communications, energy management, and consumer electronics, Adam currently serves on the boards of Control4, EnerNOC, Hammerhead Systems, Naverus, PeakStream, Rinera Networks, Rohati, SiBEAM, Silver Spring Networks, and Synfora. In addition, he has previously served on the boards of Arroyo (CSCO), Alteon WebSystems (NT), Peribit Networks (JNPR) and Traverse Networks (AV).
Prior to joining Foundation Capital, Adam was president of Excite@Home's 1400-person Subscriber Networks division, responsible for @Home (residential broadband sales and marketing), @Work (commercial access, hosting, and e-commerce solutions), company-wide customer care, engineering, and operations. He was the co-founder, President and CEO of Catapult Entertainment from inception through its merger with Mpath and subsequent IPO; Before his startup life, Adam worked inside technology innovators Apple Computer, Lucasfilm, and Sony in engineering and management.
Adam holds BAS, MS and MBA degrees from Stanford University, is a lecturer at the UCLA School of Film and Television and contributes to National Public Radio's Marketplace.
